Many websites claim to know everything about Hat Yai, but these sites are not written by local people. This one is. I have lived in Hat Yai permanently since 2003 and consequently know the town and surrounding areas very well.

The purpose of this site is to give you the information to make your visit to Hat Yai as enjoyable as possible! If you can't find the information you need, please drop me a line. I am always happy to help people if I can.

Website Update (13th July 2023)

I started this website sometime in 2004. It was never a massive site, but it attracted a steady stream of visitors. In early 2020 the world kind of stopped. Thailand closed its borders and Hat Yai's tourism industry ground to a halt. Considering that most visitors to this site were potential tourists interested in visiting Hat Yai, this website also stopped. After a while I started making some YouTube videos.

It's now July 2023 and after a very long absence I have decided to try to resurrect this site. So much has changed in the last few years that it will be a lengthy process. Many tourist related businesses closed in 2020 due to there being no tourists. Some reopened when the borders reopened, but for quite a few the forced closure was permanent. This means that until I finish these updates, some of the information in these pages will be out of date. I apologise for that.

When a business (hotel, restaurant, shop, etc) closes, rather than just delete it from the site it has been my practice to leave the information in place but to add 'NOW CLOSED'. This way, if you are looking for somewhere that has closed but can't find it, you will know why you can't find it.
