Big Motorbike Dealers In Hat Yai
Introduction
Nothing in Thailand is easier than buying a 125cc Honda Wave or something similar. There are millions of these things in the country and they can be bought and serviced everywhere. Essentially, small-engined Japanese motorbikes have done for Southeast Asia what the Ford Model T and Volkswagen Beetle did for America and Europe. They have provided a very affordable means of transport option to people who have no other options.
However, there aren't that many big bikes ... thankfully. Thais have become extremely proficient at killing themselves on small bikes and the carnage on the roads would be even worse if young Thai males could get hold of big, fast motorbikes easily and cheaply. However, if you are a responsible motorcyclist, getting hold of a big bike in Hat Yai isn't difficult.
I'm not into motorbikes (and Thai drivers terrify me), but I studied mechanical engineering and recognise excellent engineering when I see it. From an engineering point of view, many of these bikes are pieces of art on two wheels.
Malaysian bikers in Hat Yai
Saksiri Bigbike seems to sell mainly used bikes. Very near to Saksiri Bigbike is a KTM showroom. KTM, I believe, is an Austrian manufacturer that makes mainly offroad bikes, but also some street bikes.
If you want a fast sports bike, Ducati has a showroom. If you want to live the American dream in Thailand and want the ultimate low-rider you can buy a brand new (assembled in Thailand) Harley Davidson.
Big bikes are also popular with some Malaysians and Singaporeans who ride up into Thailand in groups to tour around or to join in bike weeks. Quite a few locations in southern Thailand organise bike weeks once a year and these attract quite a lot of people.
All of the showrooms below appear to have service facilities on the premises. If you travel to Hat Yai on a big bike from Malaysia, Singapore or elsewhere in Thailand and have mechanical problems they should be able to assist.

Comments: Suzuki sell lots of small bikes in Hat Yai, but you can also buy big Suzukis. Ban Suzuki is quite a large place and I was pleased to see that they are responsible enough to offer driver training. Many young Thai males go absolutely crazy driving their Honda Waves around the streets. If they transition to a big bike and drive the same way they will kill themselves very quickly.

Comments: The ultimate dream for many young Thai males and one of the only places in Thailand where I have seen genuine Brembo brakes. Thai men have a thing about putting coloured pieces of plastic with the word 'Brembo' over their brake calipers, but very rarely do you see the real thing.

Comments: This iconic American brand is now assembled in Thailand - in Rayong province. I am aware that some Americans get quite upset that American products are manufactured abroad, but that has been the case for a long time.
I did several work assignments in the US in the 80's and 90's and I was always looking to buy iconic American brands made in America, such as Timberland shoes. However, there was always a label saying that the product was manufactured in some part of Asia.
When you do the sums it makes sense and it's the only way that manufacturers can produce goods at affordable prices.
Almost no innovation comes out of Thailand, but Thais can be trained to assemble products very competently. Wages are extremely low (the wage for a university graduate is Bt15,000 per month - about 500 USD - with virtually no benefits).
Western companies have to pay out a lot more in salaries and are required by law to include many employee benefits. I'm not saying that this is wrong, but it's simply impossible for Western countries to compete financially against countries such as Thailand.
Triumph also assembles motorbikes in Thailand, along with most of the major auto manufacturers, and I have often heard Thailand referred to as the Detroit of Asia. In Ayuthaya and along the Eastern seaboard there are dozens of large industrial parks where foreign products are assembled using cheap, Thai labour.

Comments: This shop is located in the downtown area just opposite Hat Yai's famous Gim Yong Market. It sells Honda bikes that are bigger than the usual 125cc Honda Dreams you see in Thailand but, despite the name, I didn't notice any Honda Goldwings.

Comments: The Kawasaki dealership is in Hat Yai Nai, not too far away from the Hat Yai Nai branch of Tesco Lotus. As with the other motorbike dealerships, there is a service centre and you can also buy parts and accessories.

Comments: The Triumph showroom in Hat Yai used to be a fair way out of town, but in 2018 it moved to Rajyindee Road where the Volvo showroom used to be. For those familiar with Hat Yai's nightlife, it is next to the Kiss Channel Pub.
The company is privately owned by the Bloor family and headquartered in Hinckley, where all the research, development and design is done, but most assembly is carried out in the three factories in Thailand.
There are a lot of models, ranging in price from the Street Twin (Bt399,000) to the Tiger 800 XCA (Bt665,000). Finance is available if you want a new Triumph, but don't have enough readies.
